Women in Revenue Receives Grant from Tiger Global Impact Ventures to Promote Gender Equity in Sales and Marketing Roles

SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 21, 2022

Women in Revenue (WIR), a non-profit organization created to empower and elevate women in sales, marketing, revops, and customer success careers, has received a grant from Tiger Global Impact Ventures (TGIV). TGIV is the charitable arm of Tiger Global, a global tech investment firm. The grant comes from TGIV’s Gender Equity in Tech Fund (T-GET), a $50 million commitment designed to increase access, inclusion, representation, and parity for women across the technology ecosystem.

The grant will help WIR transform from an informal, volunteer-led community to an international player in workplace equity with dedicated leadership and strategic priorities. These changes will help WIR continue to advance their mission of driving career success for women in revenue-generating roles, while also helping them to build more dynamic and supportive cultures across companies. Because of this grant WIR has already introduced new offerings and deeply enhanced current programs. The organization continues to welcome more women and allies into its community, which now includes nearly 7,000 members across the United States and in 27 countries.

“Women in Revenue exists to ensure that company cultures of equity and excellence exist across all functions,” said Ali Hartman, Head of Tiger Global Impact Ventures. “This organization helps to build stronger, more inclusive corporate cultures through mentorship, training, and allyship. We are excited to support them as they strive to accelerate workplace equity.”

“Our partnership with TGIV is a game changer,” said Deanna Ransom, executive director of Women in Revenue. “We’ve been able to make our vision a reality more quickly and with greater impact than would have been possible. In today’s corporate environment, women need better resources, more visibility, increased transparency, and equal mentorship. With these kinds of tools and supports, we’ve seen women negotiate better for themselves, stay longer in their roles, and drive stronger outcomes for their companies.”

“TGIV’s support is allowing us to invest in professional leaders wholly committed to our mission,” said Shari Johnston, founder and chair of Women in Revenue. “This has allowed us to expand member offerings and programs to get us closer to our vision of delivering equity for women in revenue leadership.”

The following priorities and achievements are a result of TGIV’s grant and WIR’s commitment to its mission:

Expansion in Mentorship
In the past year, Women in Revenue has professionalized its mentorship program, creating an online platform to match mentors and mentees. As a result, membership in the mentor program has increased by more than 70 percent.

Speaker’s Bureau and WIR TV
Women in Revenue’s Speaker’s Bureau increases the visibility of women in revenue roles and amplifies their voices through speaker training and placement. In 2022, thanks to Women in Revenue, leaders and members were featured as speakers for major industry events including Dreamforce and the American Marketing Association. Additionally, in July, Women in Revenue launched WIR TV, which features experts, influencers, and members discussing issues that impact the WIR community.

New Programming and Offerings
In its newest program, Equity Resource Programming (ERP), Women in Revenue partners with companies to create custom programs designed to foster dialogue with company leaders and empower women to advocate for themselves.

6sense, a WIR Game Changing sponsor, recently held an ERP session on “Communicating Authority Through Presence.” Gina Rau, global head of PR and communications at 6sense said, “Our session was both valuable and inspiring to our Women of 6sense ERG members and allies. Deanna brought her leadership experience and expertise in an approach that sparked deep conversation and offered real-world guidance on showing up intentionally with confidence and presence. Women in Revenue programs and content resonate because they’re authentic.” She added, “Empowering revenue teams is our mission, and we believe that having more women in revenue leads to more powerful and successful teams. That’s why we’re a Women in Revenue sponsor.”
